The key changes to the modules and the examination requirements compared to the 2012 version of the Study Regulations are:
Core module
Students achieve 12 (previously 13) credits on the core module. A lecture with a participation certificate (without any examination requirements) has been removed. This module requires attendance at one seminar and one lecture with a study group.
Supplementary module
For the supplementary module, the examination requirements are two reading-based assignments (both graded). Previously these were a talk, a reading-based assignment and an ungraded report.
Project module
The old project module has been renamed the EuroS introductory module. The examination requirements are a talk (5 credits) and a written examination (5 credits). Attendance at a theory workshop and an introductory linguistics course are also required.
Academic practice module
The old academic practice module has been renamed the EuroS academic practice module. Attendance at a cultural studies seminar is required, which include a reading-based assignment (5 credits, graded) and a practice workshop with a professional editing assignment (4 credits, graded). In addition, students write a report on their stay abroad (4 credits, ungraded).
Extension module
Instead of the ungraded report, a reading-based assignment (5 credits, ungraded) has been added to the extension module. As in the past, the classes must focus on one thematic area (history or communicative acts or linguistic areas and systems) and cover at least two languages.
Academic presentation module
The old academic presentation module has been renamed the EuroS academic presentation module. The ungraded research paper has been removed. The examination requirements are now a research proposal (5 credits, graded) and an oral colloquium lasting 45 minutes, in which the master’s thesis project is presented.

From 1 October 2016 it is possible to transfer from the old Study Regulations to the new ones. To do this, you need to fill in and sign the application to change the Study Regulations and put it in the Examination Office letterbox. The Examination Office or Examination Board will calculate the examination requirements you have already fulfilled and register these accordingly. The table lists all the requirements with the notes the Examination Office uses to calculate the credits.
The entries for work which was not graded according to the old Study Regulations remain ungraded.
The modules completed according to the old Study Regulations are calculated as the corresponding modules in the new regulations. Please note that you are still required to take the examination for the EuroS introductory module. In exceptional cases it is permitted to offset this with other, comparable proof that you have fulfilled this requirement. An individual consultation with the course advisor is required.
