International Day of Women and Girls in Science (ITFMW)
Table of contents
ITFMW is a day of action that was established in December 2015 by United Nations General Assembly Resolution A/RES/70/212. Since then, the International Day of Women and Girls in Science has been celebrated worldwide every year on February 11. Women are still underrepresented in the sciences. The day of action is intended to draw attention to the role of women and girls in science. Many of today's global challenges require scientific and technical solutions that require an inclusive and diverse approach. Only in this way will it be possible to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals faster and overcome the challenges that affect us all.
