What is connectING regulars?
According to a study published in April 2018, five factors are critical to growing female participation in STEM fields:
1. female role models
2. practical experience
3. mentoring
4. application-relevant projects
5. confidence in equality
Women's mentoring at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is intended to facilitate networking between female employees and female students. This allows young women to have direct contact with potential role models and mentors.
The SFB/TR 96 and the Equal Opportunity Team of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering would like to offer female students and employees an opportunity to network away from the lecture hall and desk and are therefore pleased to be able to offer a regulars' table with changing institute visits and themed lectures in this regard since the winter semester 2012/2013. The regulars' table takes place three times a semester and is supplemented by excursions and seminars as part of the annual fall seminar.
After a long search for a name, female students and staff have been meeting under the name connectING since the winter semester 2017/2018. Another novelty is also the planned opening of individual events for women and men, for example on the topic of reconciling family and career.
If you would like to be informed about further events on a regular basis, please write an email to connectING@tu-dresden.de and we will add you to the distribution list. Your data will be used exclusively for Stammtisch purposes.
