Our study program for you!
Our Degree Programs
Mechanical engineering combines a broad engineering education with a wide range of opportunities for specialization. At TU Dresden, after completing a common core curriculum, you can specialize in one of eight fields of study—ranging from energy engineering and manufacturing to lightweight construction and automotive engineering, all the way to aerospace engineering.
Process Engineering and Natural Materials Technology combines the natural sciences and engineering with the development and optimization of technical processes. After completing a broad-based foundation program, you can specialize in one of five areas of study—ranging from food and bioprocess engineering to chemical engineering and wood and fiber materials engineering.
Material Science deals with the structure, properties, and development of modern materials. During your studies, you’ll combine fundamentals from engineering, mathematics, physics, chemistry, and computer science with a specialization in either the fundamentals and methods of Material Science or applied Material Science—ranging from structural and functional materials to biomaterials and nanomaterials.
Expected to begin in the 2027–2028 winter semester
In the Master’s program in Mechanical Engineering, you’ll deepen your knowledge of engineering and focus on the modeling, simulation, and further development of complex technical systems. From a wide range of required-elective modules, you’ll tailor your program to your individual interests and set your own academic focus—from drive technology and energy engineering to lightweight construction and mobility, all the way to production and computational mechanics.
Expected to begin in the 2027–2028 winter semester
The master’s program in Aerospace Engineering provides in-depth engineering knowledge for the development, design, and analysis of aircraft, spacecraft, and complex technical systems. You can tailor your academic focus to your individual interests—for example, in aircraft development, flight dynamics, space technology, aircraft propulsion, or aircraft systems.
Expected to begin in the 2027/2028 winter semester
How can materials and manufacturing processes be designed to be resource-efficient and sustainable? In this English-language master’s program, you’ll combine manufacturing engineering and Material Science with topics such as recycling, the circular economy, process optimization, and digitalization.
You’ll combine mechanical engineering, textile engineering, and materials science to focus on the development of textile products and technologies—from fibers and materials to machinery and the finished product. Through elective modules, you can specialize in areas such as technical textiles, textile machinery, high-performance materials, or digital development methods.
