Email migration to Exchange
Migration Pegasus Mail -> Exchange
A direct conversion of the mail folders is not possible because MS Exchange uses a proprietary file format for which only conversion solutions with costs exist.
The migration must therefore take place via the detour of including IMAP connections and manually moving the e-mails:
- In Pegasus mail: "Extras | IMAP profile":
- "New IMAP-profile":
- Assign a name e.g. "exchange", IMAP server "msx.tu-dresden.de", Port 143,
enter your ZIH login and passwort,
"Security" tab: choose "through STARTTLS",
leave the rest of the options unchanged and save the changes by pressing OK:
- "Connect":
- The additional mailbox appears in the left screen of Pmail,
close the IMAP profile windows by pressing "done":
- You can move the emails by selecting and moving with the mouse between the post boxes. If the mail folder is too big, it might take some time. The reason is that for every separate e-mail the IMAP server logging-in must proceed.
- In context menu of the exchange postbox the connection can be disabled again:
