About us
The Equal Opportunities Officer for the School of Science and her deputy are available to provide the School’s staff and students with advice and support concerning matters of equal opportunity. Our aim is to ensure that all staff and students are able to benefit equally from opportunities and prevent individuals from suffering a disadvantage. We initiate and coordinate gender equality efforts at the level of the School of Science and are also responsible for gender equality issues for members of the School administration.
The Equal Opportunities Officer is entitled to cast a vote in the School Committee. We are able to exercise the right to address and to table motions in all faculty professorial appointment procedures and cast a vote on calls for professorship applications and on the nomination list put forward by the Appointment Committee if instructed to do so by our faculties’ Equal Opportunities Officers.
We provide confidential and individually tailored advice to members and students of the School of Science, both in conflict situations and regarding career development decisions. We are at your disposal! Please contact us via e-mail, phone or visit us in our offices.
Together with the group of Equal Opportunities Officers from all faculties of the School of Science, we decide on the allocation of financial resources of the School of Science for implementing the equal opportunities mandate.
