TECHNOMATHEMATICS (MASTER)

The M.Sc. Technomathematics is a degree that qualifies for a profession. The standard length of studies is 4 semesters (2 years) beginning in October.
The teaching language is German or English.
The admission requirement for the Master's study course is a first university degree recognised in Germany that qualifies for a profession, or a degree from a state or state-recognised university of cooperative education in the area of Mathematics, or a study programme with closely related technical orientation and appropriate language skills.
The objective of the Master's programme is a comprehensive and broad knowledge in applied mathematics. A special focus is on partial differential equations and their applications in engineering and natural sciences.
You will be awarded the degree Master of Science (M.Sc. Technomathematics). In your studies, you can set priorities though the
- of a minor subject (e.g., biology, electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, physics)
- project assignment on current research projects
- the choice of your thesis (Master's thesis)
You can also combine your studies of Technomathematics with the international ECMI study programme "Industrial Mathematics".

From the very beginning of the studies, you can benefit from the broad variety in teaching and research. In mathematics alone, you can choose from the > study offers of six institutes: Institute of Algebra, Institute of Analysis, Institute of Geometry, Institute of Mathematical Stochastics, Institute of Numerical Mathematics, Institute of Scientific Computing.
A note about the language skills:
For German-language study programmes, international applicants and German applicants holding a foreign high school diploma must demonstrate their university entrance qualification in a language test. A language certificate is already to be submitted together with the application.
