Project reading and writing process design: inklusiv@TUD
From 01.08. to 31.12.2024, thanks to the allocation of special funds for inclusion 2024, the team at the TU Dresden Writing Center ("Schreibzentrum der TU Dresden" - SZD) worked intensively on raising awareness and training writing peer tutors and teachers at TU Dresden on the needs of students with AD(H)S and dyslexia in the academic reading and writing process.
In cooperation with existing activities within TU Dresden, at the SLUB and other writing didactic institutions in German-speaking countries, training materials and handouts were developed to better advise and support students with AD(H)S and dyslexia in reading and writing processes during their studies: Guidelines for staff at writing centers and in university teaching to support and accompany students with Dyslexia and / or AD(H)S (PDF, in German).
Surveys on the project
In a first step, the state of research and existing projects were analyzed and interviews were conducted with peer tutors, writing consultants and teachers.

These results were discussed in a workshop at the writing peer tutor conference at the end of September and initial recommendations were derived from them. By December, training materials and further training workshops for writing peer tutors and Writing Center Advisors as well as handouts and consulting concepts for teachers were developed on the basis of the surveys and the state of research. The internal training for the Writing Center team took place on 11.12.2024.
