Check list for the start of your studies
Following the receipt of the certificate of admission, you must confirm that you accept the place in the programme.
Subsequently, you may tackle the following issues:
- Apply for a place in a student hall of residence at the Studentenwerk Dresden(Students’ Union) or find a flat or shared accommodation. Do not forget to change your residency registration at the Citizen’s offices of Dresden
- Submit you BAföG application at the Studentenwerk Dresden (German Federal Training Assistance Act ) or find out about other financing options
- Familiarise yourself with the study regulations, your study schedule and the list of lectures – all of them can be found on the SINS (Study Information System) or on the webpages of the schools and faculties
- register with the early warning system PASST?! to receive regular feedback on their study progress and appropriate support services.

- Build your timetable or download a template from the faculty’s webpage
- The Campuscard can be used as a means of payment in the dining halls. To do so, it is best to sign an autoload agreement.
- Check the registration dates for language courses
- Do not miss the registration deadlines for sport courses
- The Campuscard is also your library card. So register online at the library (SLUB) and take advantage of the offers for beginners.
