Fall camp for schoolgirls
A different kind of fall break?
Dear 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade students,
Are you ready to fill your fall break with an extraordinary experience? Then the annual fall camp, especially for girls/young women, is the right place for you! For five days, we will address the pressing issues of our time together and develop innovative solutions. You can look forward to inspiring workshops with scientists from TU Dresden, where you will not only gain theoretical knowledge, but also practical experience. Let's experiment, discover and create together. Of course, the typical summer camp feeling will not be missing! We'll make stick dough over the campfire, go on excursions into the surrounding countryside and get together in the evenings for fun games and cozy conversations. You will be surrounded by like-minded people and experienced supervisors with whom you can exchange ideas and have lots of fun. Secure your places quickly, as the number of participants is limited! Registration for the fall campfrom October 7 to 11, 2024 in Altenberg is already open.

Arrival: Monday, October 7, at 10 am*
Departure: Friday, October 11, at 1 p.m.*

Program highlights:
- Workshops on the topics of sustainability through digitalization, climate-friendly aviation, resource-saving bridge building and much more.
- Experience robotics up close - day trip to TU Dresden
- Sports and leisure activities (e.g. volleyball, summer toboggan run), motto and games evenings, campfire and cozy barbecue
Costs: There is only a small participation fee of a maximum of €25 (including overnight stay and full board)
Places: 20 places for schoolgirls in years 9 - 12 (participation after the Abitur is also possible).

Rückblick: Her*(bst)Camp 2023 in Pirna
Auch in diesem Jahr waren die Herbstferien wissenschaftlich. Das Her*(bst)Camp besuchte unter anderem das Technikum in Pirna mit seinen Instituten für Abfall- und Kreislaufwirtschaft und für Naturstofftechnik. Die Abende waren mit Lagerfeuer und Nachtwanderung, Cocktailabend und Rätseleien abwechselnd spanned, ausgelassen und gemütlich. Den Abschluss bildete ein Exkursionstag.

Tagsüber gab es im Her*(bst)Camp ein vielfältiges Workshopprogramm zum Thema Nachhaltigkeit.

- Exkursion "nachhaltige Stadtentwicklung" in Pirna

Das Herbst-Camp 2022 bot 11 Schülerinnen* die Chance, eine Woche lang unterschiedlichste Workshops rund um den Themenkomplex "ökologische Nachhaltigkeit, Klima und Umwelt" zu besuchen. Dabei standen technische Ansätze im Vordergrund: Es ging um Recycling, Kreislaufwirtschaft, smarte Bewässerung und Trinkwasseraufbereitung - aber auch um Konfliktlösung und Klimawandelanpassung. Am Abend blieb ausreichend Zeit, für Lagerfeuer und Knüppelteig, Tanzchoreographien und eine Fotochallenge.
The Autumn Camp 2024 is an offer of the Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering, the School Contact Office and the Unit Diversity Management of TU Dresden and is organized in cooperation with the Economic Development Agency of the district of Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains.
