Ordinance of the federal government for securing energy supply
The federal government has introduced an Ordinance on Securing the Energy Supply through Rapid Impact Measures (EnSikuMaV). The energy saving measures it includes must be implemented with immediate effect until April 15, 2023.
For more information, please visit the federal government’s website.
We would like to draw your attention in particular to the measures included in the ordinance that are listed below. You will soon be able to find details on how TU Dresden is implementing these in a separate section on this website.
- Buildings are no longer to be lit up from the outside, with the exception of security and emergency lighting. Traffic safety and measures to avert hazards must be maintained.
- If possible, common areas, such as foyers, corridors and staircases, storage and utility rooms, should no longer be heated.
- In workspaces for light and predominantly sedentary activities, the temperature may not exceed 19°C. Correspondingly lower temperatures have also been stipulated in the ordinance for other activities as well.
- Electric heaters or boilers which are primarily used for hand-washing must be switched off, unless they are required for hygiene reasons.
- Water temperatures in central drinking water heating systems must be limited to a level that excludes any health risk posed by legionella (normally 60°C)
In the medium term, the Ordinance on Securing the Energy Supply through Medium-term Impact Measures (EnSimiMaV) will regulate energy-saving measures in the building sector for a period of two years starting in October 2022. In particular, this regulation concerns the hydraulic balancing of gas heating systems in four TU buildings.
