As an international cooperating research center, the CRTD stands for an open-minded and tolerant society. For this reason, many activities of different institutions and initiatives in Dresden who spread messages for tolerance and against xenophobia are supported. Since today, the center puts up the clear message for an open-minded and tolerant society in Dresden with a banner on the east facade. “Spitzenforschung ist bunt!” (Excellent research is colorful!) clearly shows that the success of the biomedical research is essentially made by clever minds of different nationalities.

At present, the DFG Research Center and Cluster of Excellence at the TU Dresden has 250 employees of whom more than 45% come from 32 different nations. The Master’s study course of the CRTD has more than 60% of foreign students.
