Andreas Wilde is the business mind behind innovative board games using apps. On the surface, this doesn’t appear to have anything to do with architecture. But if we scratch below the surface, the connection becomes clear. In his creative endeavors, it’s important to him to create games that offer a deeper meaning instead of simply being a fun way to spend time. His studies provided him with the necessary foundation. He particularly appreciated the project-oriented nature of his program and that he was able to acquire a wealth of knowledge. “Trial and error was not only permitted but encouraged,” he reminisced. One of the defining moments was when he realized that his “ideas actually have weight”. He hopes all university students will have this Eureka moment.

He was even setting up a number of small companies during his studies. The common denominator: Games. A few years ago, he founded his current company – the indie gaming studio HYBR Games. Andreas Wilde is really thankful that his studies equipped him with the necessary skills to excel in his current work: “Around half of the subjects honed my abilities as a game designer.”
