City, People, Frustration? – Participants wanted for outdoor study in Dresden
Almost 80 percent of people in Germany live in cities. They regard these urban spaces first and foremost as places to live and work in. But cities also provide a habitat for nature - from a leafy balcony to a fragrant rose garden to a shady tree by the side of the road. The forms of nature are as diverse as the places where we can find them. But what functions does nature perform in the city? How can we reconnect with nature? Can city dwellers live in harmony with nature in their surroundings and at the same time satisfy their own needs? These are questions that the junior research group URBNANCE at the Leibniz Institute for Ecological and Regional Development is investigating together with Prof. Philipp Kanske and Dr. Caroline Surrey from the Faculty of Psychology at TU Dresden. We are looking for participants for a five-week study on the experiences you have gained in Dresden's urban nature.
You will spend five weeks in September getting out into the city's nature for two hours each day. You can even arrange the hours as you see fit. All residents of Dresden between the ages of 18 and 65 are welcome to participate.
You will find further information about the study and the registration process, that will end on August 27, 2023, at: https://urbnance.ioer.info/natur-mensch-stadt
