TU Dresden is once again amongst the 200 best universities worldwide
In the latest QS Rankings (Quacquarelli Symonds), TU Dresden is placed 191st of the top universities in the world. In the TU9 group (an alliance of nine leading German universities), TUD has attained the 5th position. Overall, TUD has climbed 71 places over the course of the last six years. TUD Rector Prof. Müller-Steinhagen is particularly thrilled by this achievement: “This continuous improvement validates our strategy and motivates us to tackle the upcoming challenges. “
In total, QS evaluated over 4,700 universities, of which 1,011 made it into the ranking. 46 of these were from Germany.
In the category “Employer Reputation”, TUD was ranked 94th worldwide, 7th Germany-wide and 4th among the Universities of Excellence. In the worldwide survey to determine the “Employer Reputation”, QS asked employers which universities produced the best alumni.
In addition to the alumni reputation, derived from analysing 43,000 replies, QS took into account five further indicators with different weightings to calculate the overall ranking: number of citations by scientists, faculty student ratio, proportion of international students, proportion of international faculty and academic reputation among peers.
The QS Ranking is one of the “big three” most influential, international higher education rankings, alongside the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Ranking and the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU).
Since QS was established in 2004, it has published 14 university rankings.
