Elections and a whale in the desert, sensible minds and saving the European hamster: the summer semester at Dresden Children's University promises to be exciting
It starts again right after the winter vacations: Registration for the Dresden Children's University starts on March 3, 2025 at 8 a.m. Exciting lectures for children aged eight to twelve await many inquisitive ears.
This semester, the Children's University will once again be a hybrid offering. This means that the young inquisitive minds can take part directly in the lecture hall or follow the lectures from home.
Registration is via the online form at www.ku-dresden.de.
The lecture program for the summer semester 2025
Shortly after the Bundestag elections, we will be talking about elections. Why are there elections and how do they work in a democracy? Political scientist Stefanie Gerstenberger explains the topic using a simulation game.
A whale in the desert? And why can it only be seen from the air? Where do the other animal drawings come from? Nazca researcher Christiane Richter explores these questions.
Reason, what is reason? What do we need it for and why is it good to keep a cool head from time to time? The philosopher Moritz Schulz explains.
The field hamster is in danger! What can be done to save this cute little animal? Thomas Liebenstein from Leipzig Zoo explains why the European hamster is endangered and how we can all help it.
