Education for Sustainable Development in the tri-border region: a contribution to teacher education
With Dimensions of Teaching Sustainability, a workshop series for student teachers from the TU Dresden, the Charles University Prague and the University of Lower Silesia in Wrocław, the ZLSB contributes to embedding Education for Sustainable Development in teacher education and strengthening the intercultural competence of future teachers.
Over the past three months, innovative teaching-learning concepts for interdisciplinary teaching at primary, secondary and vocational schools were developed by students in German-Polish-Czech groups. Experienced ESD lecturers from the neighbouring region accompanied the work process on didactic concepts for climate change and climate justice, consumption, global health, educational justice and nutrition. The results thus reflect the current scientific and methodological state of the debate on ESD.
A digital presentation of the teaching-learning concepts on 11 December 2021 drew the interest of members of the ZLSB's international IMPRESS network and enlightening discussions from which students, lecturers and the interested professional public benefited equally. The project will be continued in 2022, as the students will be implementing their concepts in schools in the region and the materials will be shared with teachers.
