Pavlodar Pedagogical University (Kazakhstan) signs Memorandum of Understanding with the ZLSB
The University Executive Board of the "Margulan" Pedagogical University (Pavlodar, Kazakhstan) visited TU Dresden from 11.03.-13.03.2024 to discuss future cooperation. The main aim was to facilitate student mobility in the teaching profession by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the ZLSB.
The "Margulan" Pedagogical University(https://ppu.edu.kz/en/) was founded in 1962 as a pedagogical institute and was initially located on the fourth floor of a Kazakh school. At that time, 150 students initially enrolled in the Faculty of History and Philology and the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics. In 2017, the Institute of Education was granted university status. There are currently 5,000 student teachers studying at six faculties, including the Faculty of Psychology and Education, the Faculty of Philology and the Faculty of Humanities.
A delegation consisting of the university's management visited various TU Dresden institutions for three days. During this time, there was above all a constructive exchange with the ZLSB, in which many points of contact for future cooperation were identified. In order to anchor these in a binding declaration of intent, the MOU was signed by both sides as a signpost.
By signing the cooperation agreement, the Center for Teacher Education and Educational Research (ZLSB) is supporting collaboration in the areas of academic and intercultural exchange, teacher shortage issues and alternative routes into the teaching profession, school-related research activities as well as internships and participation in joint networking activities with other international partners. This includes participation in the upcoming Late Summer School in September.
