TEACHER TRAINING AT TU DRESDEN
We are very pleased you are interested in studying to become a teacher at the TU Dresden!
Currently, about 4,300 students study at the TU Dresden within one of the four teacher training courses. The TU Dresden offers degree courses for students who want to work in general education schools (primary school, secondary school and grammar school) as well as courses that aim to train teachers for vocational schools.

The TU Dresden offers teacher training courses that conclude with a state examination (Staatsexamen) for
Elementary Schools (Lehramt an Grundschulen)
Middle Schools (Lehramt an Oberschulen)
Gymnasium (Lehramt an Gymnasien)
Vocational Schools (Lehramt an berufsbildenden Schulen).
Apart from the courses that conclude with the Staatsexamen, the TU Dresden still offers a variety of alternative degree courses:
the Master of Education for Gymnasium (no new matriculation possible),
the Master of Education for Vocational Schools (no new matriculation possible) and
the Bachelor / Master of Economic Education (Wirtschaftspädagogik).
