Excursion 2008
17 students of the 8th semester could convince themselves of this on their eleven-day bridge construction excursion. Completely exhausted, but enriched by a huge range of experiences, they returned on August 20 from the approx. 5000km long tour via Malmö, Oslo, Trondheim, Bergen, Stavanger and Kristiansand. The program included many visits to construction sites (e.g. the Malmö City Tunnel, the Tjuvholmen Underwater Park in Oslo or the PPP project of the E18 between Kristiansand and Grimstad), visits to the universities in Trondheim and Bergen as well as guided tours of an oil refinery and a large shipyard. In this way, the students were able to gain not only a lot of technical experience but also a picture of their future development opportunities as civil engineers.
Great thanks go to all hosts in Norway and especially to the sponsors of the trip, the Society of Friends and Supporters of the TU Dresden as well as the construction companies Bilfinger+Berger and Adam Hörnig, which provided not only financial but also considerable programmatic support.
