Within four individual doctoral projects, individual practice-oriented research projects of great social, economic and technological impact will be dealt with and therefore academic professionals qualified in order to gain better chance to get started in the Saxon industry and science.
In addition, brain drain can be prevented by additional funded PhD theses. At the same time, emerging innovations will enable to attract and retain new academic professionals to Saxony, in order to create new jobs and work areas, to encourage investments as well as to strengthen the industry and to become more competitive.
Due to a high degree of innovation and lasting innovation potential of individual doctoral projects, it will be possible to increase the competitiveness of Saxony’s economic standing. The doctoral projects are therefore of particular public interest, also because they address societal issues and problems.
The innovations in promising research areas, resulting from these projects, will provide a significant contribution to smart, sustainable and inclusive growth by supporting strategic and operational objectives of the Free State of Saxony's innovation strategy.
