Structural Funds Saxony 2021-2027
The European Union's Structural Funds include the European Social Fund Plus (ESF Plus) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). In order to create good living conditions for all citizens of the EU, the different developments of the regions and states of the EU are to be gradually equalized through the structural funds. Funding is based largely on following objectives to achieve this:
- The aim is to create a smart Europe through innovation, digitalization, economic change and the promotion of small and medium-sized enterprises.
- Proximity of the EU to its citizens is also to be addressed by supporting local development strategies and sustainable urban development.
- Investments in strategic transport and digital networks, as well as in the energy transition, renewable energies and the fight against climate change, are intended to connect Europe more closely and lead it into a green, CO2-free future.
- Last but not least, by promoting quality jobs, education, skills, social inclusion and equality concerning access to healthcare, people are working towards creating a more social Europe.
The main purpose of ESF Plus is to create a more social Europe. The projects are intended to help strengthen social rights, especially in employment and social policy.
The EFRE is designed to level out regional disparities within the EU by contributing to economic, social and community solidarity.
As the 2021 – 2027 funding period has already begun, the organization executing the project, SAB, has made provisions for the use of its funding portal for projects receiving financing from the state and the Structural Fund.
