We are happy to support you in acquiring individual or joint projects from national and international funding organizations. In the course of your project application, please note that the Research Department of TU Dresden is divided into several units: Unit 5.1 - Research Promotion supports you in acquiring third-party funding for research from national and international funding organizations, excluding the EU. Unit 5.2 - European Project Center supports you in applying for funding from EU programs and calls for research proposals. If you are planning projects in the field of medicine, please contact the Department Research and International Affairs of the Faculty of Medicine.
In the following sections you will find information on our services and processes.

Major Instrumentation
There is an established internal TUD procedure for the procurement of major instrumentation. Although there are several funding opportunities, the possible volumes of these programs are not sufficient to fulfill all requests. It is therefore necessary that you seek advice from us in advance of an intended application in order to clarify the following questions:
- In which funding programme could I have the device I want promoted?
- Is there a chance that it can be realized within a suitable programme in the foreseeable future?
If the answer to 02. is positive, we will guide you through all the administrative steps so that not only the application has a better chance of success, but also all the necessary preparations for the later installation have been made (rooms, infrastructure).
Instructions and important documents will be made available to you when you contact us.

2.1.3 Sächsische Aufbaubank (SAB) and Sächsisches Staatsministerium für Wissenschaft und Kunst (SMWK)
With the 2012-2027 funding period, the SAB project management agency plans to use the SAB funding portal for projects financed by the federal state and structural funds. The administrative processing of projects, from application to completion, is to be carried out gradually via the aforementioned online portal. This also applies to participation in collaborative projects. The application for a personal login can only be made with a legally binding and authorized signature for TU Dresden.
The allocation of logins or the establishment of users and authorizations will be carried out centrally via an account of the TU Dresden in order to bundle all state and structural fund-financed projects of the TU Dresden at the project management agency SAB. We therefore urge you not to register independently in the SAB funding portal, but to contact Unit 5.2 - European Project Center or Unit 5.1 - Research Promotion on a case-by-case basis.
- For (joint) projects financed by the Structural Funds (ESF Plus and EFRE research projects), please contact Unit 5.2 - European Project Center before submitting your application.
- For state-funded and purely EFRE infrastructure (joint) projects, please contact Unit 5.1 - Research Promotion to set up an authorization before submitting an application.
For questions and support regarding applications for TG 70 funding (Title Group 70) from the SAB and the SMWK, please contact Unit 5.1 - Research Promotion.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
