Network studio: Quantitative research in humanities and social sciences
Network studio: Quantitative research
The upcoming Network Studio of the Emerging Field of Societal Change at the TUD aims to examine quantitative research in the humanities and social sciences, which are characterized by a variety of methods ranging from interpretative approaches to empirical-quantitative procedures. Quantitative methods offer an independent approach to reality that uses systematic data collection and analysis to test hypotheses and capture complex relationships. Despite their importance, the potential of quantitative approaches in these disciplines is sometimes underestimated. However, the event emphasizes the interdependent relationship between norms and facts and sees this as a value for interdisciplinary research, also in relation to natural and technical sciences.
The workshop is aimed at empirically and quantitatively oriented researchers in the humanities and social sciences to discuss methodological, epistemological and practical perspectives. The aim is to promote exchange, pool research interests, develop common priorities and strengthen the self-image of quantitative research. In addition, infrastructure and resources are to be discussed in order to promote innovative and interdisciplinary research at TU Dresden. Interested parties are cordially invited to actively participate in shaping future empirical research. Registration is requested*.
