If you are studying a foreign language but don't want to become a teacher or an interpreter, you will be familiar with the annoying question: "And what do you want to do with it?" To help you find a good answer to this question, we invited alumni of the Faculty SLK to present their professional careers and answer your questions about preparing for professional life and entering the world of work.

Key tips from alumni for students
- Be open and curious - there are also interesting career opportunities in seemingly atypical language and cultural sectors.
- Gain practical experience in different areas during your studies, especially if you don't yet have a clear idea of your career path after university.
- Develop an eye for the skills and abilities you have acquired during your studies that will also benefit you in your professional life.
- And finally, don't be discouraged if you don't get an application straight away. The path to a career is rarely straightforward.
