Information of the Vice-Rector Academic Affairs | two-factor authentication (2FA) at TU Dresden
Dear students,
In the circular email dated 14.11.2023, you were informed by TU Dresden Information Security that two-factor authentication (2FA) will be introduced at TU Dresden. A large number of you have already complied with the request to set up 2FA (token), for which we would like to thank you very much. For all those who have not yet set up or completed the setup, a reminder email was sent on 10.01.2024 to set up the token by 02.03.2024 in the TU Dresden self-service portal at https://selfservice.tu-dresden.de/services/idm/token/.
IMPORTANT:
After setting up the 2FA or with the expiry of the deadline for setting up the 2FA on 02.03.2024, web applications that require a Shibboleth query can only be logged in with the ZIH login and your own token. This also applies to teaching and examination-related applications such as OPAL incl. OPAL Exam@TUD (ONYX examinations). This also means that the token in conjunction with the ZIH login is also necessary for the digital execution of an examination for authentication and must be available on the examination date. This is the only way to participate in a digitally conducted examination.
I wish you every success for the upcoming examination period in the winter semester 2023/24.
Kind regards
Prof. Dr. Michael Kobel
Vice-Rector Academic Affairs
