AQua
AQua
In the General Qualification (AQua), students primarily acquire interdisciplinary qualifications that are useful both to their studies and careers. These skills are also referred to as “key qualifications”. The German Council of Science and Humanities includes the following examples in its “Recommendations for introducing new study structures and degrees”: Communication skills and the ability to work in a team, presentation and moderation techniques, familiarity with modern information technologies, intercultural skills and knowledge of foreign languages as well as the ability to condense and structure knowledge and information. According to the recommendations of the German Council of Science and Humanities and the German Rector's Conference, the teaching of key qualifications should be given a much higher priority in Bachelor’s and Master’s programs than in the Magister and Diplom degree programs that were common in the past.
You do not need to register for exams in the AQUA modules via HISQIS or Selma, nor is it possible to do so.
AQua events are documented via the AQua collection sheet (Sammelschein), which you can print out on the respective pages of your faculty (link see below). For languages, you generally have to print out the supporting documents yourself via LSK-online. However, please note that you must also have these printed copies validated at the LSK office (see also the note at the bottom of the printed document). Your degree program’s Academic Advisor (at the Faculty of Linguistics, Literature and Cultural Studies) or AQua Officer (at the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science) must validate the collection sheet. As soon as you have earned all the necessary credits, please have your collection sheet signed accordingly and then submit it to the Examination Office. The credits will then be added to your online transcript of records.
