Research group SmartLab systems
The research group SmartLab systems at the Institute of Natural Materials Technology focus on development projects in the areas Internet of Things (IoT), cyber-physical systems and Big Data in the laboratory environment and generally in the field of biotechnology.
Key research aspects are the next generation of autonomous mobile sensor systems, the computer vision of biological samples and their automatic manipulation as well as problems in the field of laboratory automation.
Projects of the SmartLab systems research group include:
- FISCH-Plattform: Functionalized Integrated Sensor Connector Housing - Plattform
- PriMuS-Bioreactor-Printed-Multiparameter-Sensor-Bioreactor
- smartFormulation - Development of an automated, function-integrated system for the production and quality evaluation of insoluble mixtures in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and cosmetics, as well as the determination and recording of process-relevant par
- SmartAQAlab - Development of a semi-automated support system for the multi-parametric analysis of drinking and process water
- dOxy2SensE - dissolved Oxygen Sens-o-Spheres Expansion
- CellPAT - New process analytical technology for Cell Stack culturing environments
- hyperBATH - Novel multi-point reaction system with integrated sensors and embedded cloud connection for aggregated data analysis
- iHexagon - Development, construction and testing of an intelligent, multi-variant, autonomous, mobile laboratory furniture system with LIMS connectivity as the basis for functionally integrative elements in the laboratory of the future
- LiquiPlate - Development, construction and testing of an automated system for concentrating and plating liquid samples in culture dishes with automatic incubation and inspection
- SteriBot - Development of an automation system for sterility testing of radio pharmaceuticals
- iPhoto - Development and Test of an automated imaging station for capturing, documentation and analysis of laboratory samples with link to a LIMS
