Model applications for the Ion Mobility Spectroscopy (IMS) in the food industry
Food processing is often associated with the generation of 'smells'. Many of these volatile substances may be indicators for ongoing processing steps during food manufacture that could be used as controlled process variables.
Aim of this project is to develop selected applications for the use of the IMS, e.g. for screening quality parameters of foods or for fast and real-time monitoring of process-relevant substances during the manufacturing process. Applications are selected on the basis of different demands regarding the sensibility and discrimination ability of the IMS
