EUTOPA Day
The first EUTOPA Day took take place on May 13 at the 10 partner universities of the EUTOPIA University Alliance. The EUTOPIA Team at TU Dresden invited for a discussion on "Challenges for climate change and sustainability: What can the EUTOPIA Alliance contribute to solving global and local climate problems?". Local student initiatives, key player from the university and experts in the field followed the invitation and exchanged ideas in a vivid discussion. New ideas where formed from planting “EUTOPIA trees” at every campus to the development of joint courses based on existing sustainability lectures. We will forward all ideas to the sustainability group of EUTOPIA who will meet on the upcoming EUTOPIA Week and try to follow up ideas here on campus.
After the discussion, we joined the EUTOPIA online session together with Rector Prof. Ursula Staudinger and Prof. Edeltraut Günther, Director at the Institute for Integrated Material Flow and Resource Management at the United Nations University (UNU-FLORES). The online panel gave more insights on enviromental and sustainability issues.
The day was rounded off with a get together, where new connections were made and ideas could be further discussed.
