Joshua Nesgen, 26 Creative Technologist.
Atmospheric, ambient drifting music.
My name is Rico.
I’ve been a songwriter, singer, guitarist, and drummer since 2003. I’ve had the opportunity to perform my songs in bands such as “B.S.E.,” “Daisy und die Frittenbude,” and “Wasmirbleibt.” After about 200 gigs, various music videos, TV appearances, and 8 released albums, my urge to write songs and play concerts hasn’t waned one bit. Since 2020, I’ve been performing under the name “Rico Bleibt.” These days, I record my albums entirely on my own. My current solo album is called “Alles auf Null.” Since my song output is quite substantial, many more will follow. My songs are a mix of driving ska, polka, and fast punk beats, catchy punk rock guitar riffs, and expressive vocals. The lyrics cover a wide range of topics that are important to me in my life. Among other things, they address issues like anti-Nazi sentiments, death, love, life, longing, addiction, and fun. As usual, the concerts will continue to be full of energy, good vibes, audience participation, and rounds of vodka. For the upcoming gigs, it will always be a surprise whether I play them with an acoustic guitar or a full band. See you and hear you soon.
“In the end, music was all I had left”
The Open Stage is a concept where artists and creatives have the opportunity to present their art on our stage. It is a platform for anyone to showcase their talents in front of a live audience, be it music, comedy, poetry or other forms of artistic performance.

With their diverse sound, Die Willis are bringing a breath of fresh air to the German indie scene. Are you a fan of rock-infused party hits? Or do melancholic ballads speak to you more? With Die Willis, you’ve definitely come to the right place if you love moving music made with a lot of heart. The band, centered around the eponymous guitarist Willi Richter, was formed in January 2025 during a spontaneous jam session.
Tango mit Commedia dell’arte
This year, we’ll don masks and dance the tango. Commedia dell’arte is a classical theatrical form featuring distinct archetypes. At its heart are three characters: Columbina, Harlequin, and Pierrot.
Columbina—played by Rose—is smart, full of life, and self-assured. She first meets Götz as Harlequin: charming, playful, and full of energy. A lively interplay of attraction, wit, and seduction unfolds between the two.
Then Harlequin leaves the stage, and Pierrot enters. With his quiet longing and melancholy, he brings a new mood to the story. The encounter with Columbina becomes deeper and more contemplative.
Thus a dance emerges between play and truth, lightness and melancholy—and the realization that behind every mask stands a real person with real feelings.
We are the Children’s and Youth Dance Studio at TU Dresden, founded in 1977 by Bärbel and Gert Hölzel. Our repertoire ranges from modern dance and jazz dance to folk dance and children’s dance. We are excited to be part of “dies academicus” and will be giving a glimpse into our repertoire starting around 4:00 p.m. Enjoy!
Since 2018, the Dresden-based band Tapyr has been playing down-to-earth hard rock and blues rock with occasional progressive and psychedelic elements. The influence of certain rock legends from the 1970s is, of course, unmistakable.
Together, the four musicians—Lucas Hurtig (vocals, guitar), Leon Sbosny (Hammond), Matthias Hurtig (bass), and Ansgar Vent (drums) create a diverse blend of groove and melody, guitar and Hammond, as well as tried-and-true and experimental elements.
In addition to performing on stage, the band has also discovered the joys of studio work in recent years and can proudly point to five releases: Fisherman (single, 2020), The Valley Session (EP, 2020), Songbyrd (single, 2021), Flight of the Oryx (EP, 2023), and Preaching to the Choir (album, 2025).

What is Pride Week about?
Queer life is marginalized everywhere. We want to create spaces at the TUD for an examination of these patterns of oppression and the possibilities of queer liberation. We also want to network and create points of contact, make queerness visible and celebrate it.
Events often focus on pedagogical contexts: What role do educators (and the institutions in which they may work) play and what role should they play?
Especially in times when hatred and violence against queer life are on the rise and are being fueled in a targeted manner, especially by right-wing stakeholders, we must not hide. We have to counter the attempts at intimidation and neoliberal isolation: We stand together, we remain visible and we continue to build a better world for all!
Who is Pride Week aimed at?
Everyone! Regardless of whether you are queer yourself, whether (or what) you are studying, whether you are involved in educational contexts or how much you have already dealt with the issues - if you are interested in an event, then come along! As long as you treat others with respect, you are welcome! <3
Queerness is not a marginal topic, because we were and are all socialized in a queer-hostile society and that hurts us all.
On June 17, it's that time again: it's Dies Academicus. On this university-free day, we will once again be playing our popular game "Mr. X", in which teams move around Dresden's public transport system in small groups. Try to catch the team that is trying to escape the others. Or be the team that deceives everyone else and escapes. Just like in the board game "Scotland Yard". The event starts at 11 a.m. in the foyer of the POT, groups will be divided up on site. A public transport ticket (e.g. semester ticket) is required to take part. One group member must also have WhatsApp or Signal installed to communicate with the game management.
We are looking forward to a great day with exciting rounds of games.
