Climate schools
Climate schools
Climate change, with its regional and supra-regional effects, is one of the greatest challenges of our time that we as a society have to tackle together. In recent years, numerous programs have been adopted and many measures have been launched to tackle this issue.
The "Climate Schools in Saxony" initiative sees itself as an important part of this climate policy commitment and contributes to the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The core concerns are:
- to impart knowledge and skills: on the topics of climate change, climate protection and climate adaptation as well as on the complex interrelationships of the sustainability dimensions
- to sensitize people to the consequences of their own actions and decisions
- to experience self-efficacy: also through small but conscious changes in behavior as well as by contributing and implementing ideas
Our aim is to support school communities in permanently anchoring and living these topics in school life so that they become a natural basis for our thoughts and actions.
