IT Specialists can train in one of two fields:
- Application development
- System integration
The vocational training lasts three years for each field.
Vocational training in application development primarily focuses on the creation and adaptation of software.
The training program focuses on
- Learning programming languages such as C, C++ and Python
- Web programming and design (HTML, CSS, Java, JavaScript)
- Databases (design, operation)
- Testing and optimizing existing applications and programming additional modules or interfaces for them as necessary
- Gaining basic knowledge of hardware, installation, configuration, operating systems and networks
- Presenting application systems and documentation
Vocational training in system integration concentrates heavily on hardware and data networking. It has the following focal points:
- Planning, installation and configuration of complex IT systems
- System integration, networks
- Service, advice and guidance, error analysis, troubleshooting
- Databases, programming
Prerequisites
Both fields require good to excellent grades in mathematics and computer science. Applicants are expected to have good knowledge of English, German and physics. A well-rounded general education is a plus.
