The training program to become a gardener in a tree nursery prepares students for a future-oriented, sustainable and multifaceted career. Woody plants are becoming increasingly important, whether they are planted in gardens and parks or lining streets in cities and towns.
Tree nursery gardeners are tasked with the professional and species-appropriate cultivation of trees and other woody plants from germination to market-ready maturity. The final product helps preserve nature, quality of life and the future of our planet.

- The species-appropriate and environmentally conscious cultivation of woody plants on open land and as contained cultures
- Techniques for propagating woody plants (sowing, propagation of cuttings, grafting)
- Soil improvement on open land, fertilization of woody plants, irrigation techniques

Prerequisites
Applicants should be interested in the study of nature and be physically fit. They should also be flexible and have excellent marks in natural science courses as well as mathematics and German. They should preferably have a good educational background.
