TU Dresden's campus
The main campus of TUD Dresden University of Technology is located south Dresden's city centre and can be easily reached by bus (bus lines 61, 66, 85) and by tram (tram lines 3 and 8) or via the A17 highway (exit: “Dresden Südvorstadt”). The university outer campuses are located in Tharandt (Department of Forest Sciences), in Dresden Blasewitz (University Hospital and “Biocampus”), in Dresden-Johannstadt (Lightweight Engineering and Polymer Technology) and in Pirna (Institute of Waste Management) and Zittau (IHI).
The buildings on the main campus mainly date back to three different periods of history: the beginning of the campus development starting in 1890, which is characterised by the planning and building design of Martin Dülfer; the post-war years from 1950, when Hermann Glöckner left his architectural imprints on the campus and the modern era, from 1990, with its exposed concrete buildings erected during the post-reunification construction boom.
On the following websites you will find our services to help you orientate on campus as well as links to the library (Saxon State Library - Library of the State and the University “SLUB”), the guesthouses, the TU Dresden, the Students’ Union Dresden and the University Shop, where “fan merchandise” is sold.
