Protect the climate, educate and network: TUD's Sustainability Week in June 2025

From June 16 to 23, 2025, the Sustainability Week will take place at TUD Dresden University of Technology with a whole host of exciting programs on the topic of sustainability. This week will not only focus on the environment, but also on social and economic sustainability. During this week, you will have the opportunity to get to know sustainability stakeholders from TUD and the city of Dresden on campus and online.

Some selected program points:

Sustainability snack for breakfast: Bits'n Pieces - educational snacks & future fun

  • Date: June 18, 2026, 10 am - 12 noon
  • Location: Meadow behind the HSZ (or FOE/101 in case of bad weather)

Gourmets take note! If you want to start the morning with a relaxed breakfast and get into conversation with stakeholders in the fields of education, nutrition or sustainability at TU Dresden, the cozy and free snack on June 18 between 10 a.m. and 12 noon on the meadow behind the HSZ is the right place for you. Catering will be provided. Everyone is welcome. You can also make your own smoothie using leg power on the smoothie wheel. Here you can get into conversation with, among others: Foodsharing, arche noVa e.V., Verbrauchergemeinschaft, Ernährungsrat, aha - anders handeln e.V, TagZwo, Zentrum für Weiterbildung (ZfW) der TUD, Center for Interdisciplinary Learning and Teaching (ZiLL) or ZLSB an der TUD.

Real-world laboratory tdCON - Strategies for greenhouse gas neutrality at the Chair of Industrial Design Engineering

  • Date: June 19, 2025, 11.10 am to 12.30 pm

In the tdCON real-world laboratory, strategies are being developed to make the Chair of Industrial Design Engineering greenhouse gas neutral - including in the areas of electricity consumption, thermal energy, business travel and everyday mobility. The process of data collection, the identification of major CO2 emitters, the development of reduction strategies, the search for credible compensation measures and the approach to conflicting goals will be presented. How can scientific exchange continue to succeed when air travel has to be critically scrutinized? How can sustainability be anchored in research and teaching in the long term? And: Can the original goal of making the Chair CO2-neutral be realized?

Ideas workshop on climate protection and sustainability

  • Date: June 23, 2025, 2.50 to 4.20 pm
  • Location: probably POT/013

In this interactive workshop, you are invited to think about the challenges and opportunities of climate protection in the context of sustainable development - with a special focus on practical solutions for TUD. The aim of the workshop is to develop innovative approaches and work out concrete measures that can be implemented both in your personal and professional environment. At the end of the workshop, the participants will have developed a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities of climate protection and will have developed concrete action steps with which they can actively contribute to the implementation of effective solutions at TUD.
