What comes next after high school? Choosing what to study at TUD
Have you almost finished your school leaving exams? Or your year spent volunteering or abroad is coming to an end? You must be wondering: “What will I do next?” You can find the answers to your questions in the latest article in the special TUD section of the Sächsische Zeitung newspaper.
For support in finding the right field of study, visit TU Dresden’s Central Student Information and Counseling Service. Our advisors can help match your interests to degree programs and explain what each subject entails.
For those who still have some time to decide, TUD has more than 40 programs up its sleeve for getting to know university life. If you want to do some research, we recommend the degree courses and student life videos on TU Dresden’s YouTube channel. If you are still not sure what to study, you can even participate in our study orientation project for one or two semesters starting in the coming year. This will enable you try out various degree programs and establish a good basis for making your decision.
In addition to the content of your studies, there is also the question of how to finance your time at university – from BAföG and beyond. The Deutschland-Stipendium was a stroke of luck for Nicole Jeschor. This scholarship program not only takes academic performance into account – social commitment is also a crucial factor. Students receive a monthly allowance and, perhaps more importantly, plenty of contacts that can help them to get ahead.
