TU Dresden welcomes German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier
As part of his two-day inaugural visit to the Free State of Saxony, German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier visited TU Dresden on 14 November 2017. Joined by his wife Elke Büdenbender, he familiarised himself with the current research projects at TU Dresden’s Institute of Concrete Structures and at the Cluster of Excellence - Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD).
Following a short welcome address by TUD’s Rector, Prof. Hans Müller-Steinhagen, the guests were captivated by the cutting-edge research results in regenerative therapies, particularly in the fields of neurodegenerative ophthalmic diseases and diabetes.
Subsequently, the guests struck up a conversation with the laureates of the ‘Deutsche Zukunftspreis’ (German Future Award) and were enthralled by the potential of the novel carbon concrete material.
