Room panels in the Auditorium Centre damaged
The new guidance system has been seriously damaged on all floors of the Auditorium Centre. This affects the marking by profile and Braille lettering as well as the tactile pictograms on the door signs. The 23 room panels affected account for about 20% of all door signs and must now be replaced. These are mainly teaching rooms that are constantly occupied by hundreds of students in the Auditorium Centre.
This vandalism not only causes unnecessary costs for repairs, new purchases and external services – the money is then no longer available for other purposes. Such actions are also counterproductive from an environmental point of view, as on the one hand unnecessary waste is produced and at the same time, new material has to be used. In addition, there are the direct consequences for people with impaired vision, who have been deprived of a fundamental possibility of orientation by the damages.
The university calls on all of its members to handle the inventory provided to them with care and draws attention to this with stickers that are located where such damage occurs most frequently.
