TU Dresden and the University of Wrocław expand cooperation
TU Dresden and the University of Wrocław have maintained a partnership since 1997. Now, by signing a memorandum of understanding on the occasion of the German-Polish-Czech Science Platform, the two universities have formally intensified their collaboration.
The University of Wrocław is one of ten leading research institutions in Poland. The German-Polish institute CASUS (Center for Advanced Systems Understanding), based in Görlitz, has initiated many collaborative efforts to strengthen connections in the tri-border area where Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic meet.
Since 2014, many faculties from TU Dresden’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences have also been working closely with the University of Wrocław on research projects, conferences and workshop discussions. For students, there is a partnership for the elementary school teacher training program and a joint summer school which explores the topics of identity politics and minorities in the 19th and 20th centuries.
The memorandum of understanding was signed to strengthen the existing partnership, increase the acquisition of third-party funding for EU grants of joint projects, develop double degree programs and expand cooperative internships.
