Schools and Faculties

The academic foundation of the Technische Universität Dresden is formed by our five departments and the faculties located there. The collaborative networking of this structure forms the foundation for strong transferable research and teaching.

Central units

Outstanding research units at the TUD deal with central social issues and innovative questions. What counts are results that are relevant to us all and thus create knowledge for life. Institutions such as the Dresden University Sports Center (DHSZ) or the Custody enrich everyday university life with their services and play a central role at the TUD.

Central Administra­tion

TU Dresden promotes the effective transfer of scientific knowledge, processes and technologies to industry and society. Through the exploitation of patents and the application of new research results, forward-looking products and services are created that strengthen innovative power. The TU Dresden's networking with companies and associations, both regionally and internationally, is essential.

The TU Dresden

The TUD unites all academic research and education areas under one roof. With 5 departments and 17 faculties, we offer a wide range of subjects from the natural sciences and engineering to the humanities and social sciences.

Our Central Units promote interdisciplinary research and teaching and offer employees services in many areas of their everyday work. They take on numerous further education, service and supply tasks. Central University Administration also supports all members of our university as a service unit and thus plays an essential role in everyday university life.

In order to do justice to the diversity of TU Dresden and its members, interest groups and representatives take care of all important matters and thus strengthen the participation and co-determination of all stakeholders.

Rectorate

The Extended Rectorate is made up of the Rector, the Chancellor, two Vice Rectors and an additional three Chief Officers. It manages the university and develops its overall strategy.
Bodies and represent­atives

The university committees make decisions within the framework of academic self-administration and form a central element of university culture. The interests of all members of the TUD are taken into account, whose interests are also represented by the representatives.
Central University Administra­tion

As a service facility, our central administration supports all members of the TUD in their day-to-day work. From finances and personnel matters to research and transfer services, all support services can be found here.
