Working together for sustainable development
At TUD Dresden University of Technology, we are convinced that together, we can overcome global ecological challenges. This requires us to use resources consciously and in a targeted manner, to have a respectful attitude towards the environment and to be socially responsible. In this way, we can tackle climate change constructively and safeguard the livelihoods of present and future generations. Globally linked and regionally anchored, TUD is developing into an excellent role model for an ecologically responsible institution.
Our sustainability strategy provides us with the necessary framework. We have set ourselves ambitious goals and are certain we can achieve them together. We recognize where we have agency and are prepared to use it. We encourage each other and overcome obstacles. Because our potential lies in our diversity and in standing together. Our research expertise and our commitment are key to a TU Dresden that is fit for the future.

Globally linked and regionally anchored – on our way to an ecologically responsible university
Only by working together can we make a targeted commitment to the sustainable development of our university and our society.
The Sustainability strategy provides the necessary framework in six fields of action:
- Governance: We will establish long-term structural and organizational conditions for sustainable development at TU Dresden.
- Campus and operations: Our university will become greenhousegas-neutral with net-zero emissions by 2035, and we will continuously minimize our consumption of resources.
- Research: We will make a significant contribution to solving environmental and climate-related issues and provide scientific support for sustainable change in society.
- Teaching: In the spirit of education for sustainable development, we will provide our students with all the necessary qualifications for future-proof, responsible and sustainable action.
- Digitalization: We will make our digital transformation processes ecologically sustainable and fair.
- Dialog and Transfer: We will play a central role in public discourse on sustainable development in Dresden, Saxony and beyond.
