Postdocs
WHAT´S NEXT Program/Charlotte Bühler Program
TU Dresden has set itself the goal of increasing the proportion of women professors and postdoctoral researchers. Through the Women Professors Program of the Federal and State Governments, TU Dresden is able to provide targeted support for women scientists during their postdoc phase with the Charlotte Bühler Program. In addition, there are also individual coaching services which can be used within this framework.
Maria Reiche Postdoctoral Fellowships
The Maria Reiche Postdoctoral Fellowships support excellent women postdocs in their intention to independently acquire a third-party funded project in order to qualify for a scientific career at TU Dresden with the goal of becoming a professor.
You can receive a full-time fellowship for up to two years in order to develop your unique scientific profile and to submit an independent research proposal to an external funding body for a third-party funded project that will pave your way to a professorship (e.g. DFG Emmy Noether Program, ERC Starting Grant, DFG Heisenberg Program).
The Graduate Academy
The Graduate Academy is a central contact and service point for all questions relating to the doctorate and post-doctoral phase It also supports the creation of optimal, cross-university conditions during the doctoral and postdoctoral phases.
Women Professors
Women Leading in Academia - Program for professors
TU Dresden's one-year qualification program Women Leading in Academia is aimed at professors (W2, W3 and W1 in the advanced tenure-track process) who want to strengthen and develop their leadership skills and expand their professional network.
Eleonore Trefftz Visiting Professor Program
The Eleonore Trefftz Program makes temporary stays possible for visiting women scientists at TU Dresden who represent their subject in teaching and research at a respective faculty. The program strives to promote women on their way to full professorships. Visiting professor positions can be filled for one or two semesters or for up to one year, regardless of the semester.
Additional funding and networking opportunities
BeWISE – Women in Science and Engineering
BeWISE is a three-day, English-language conference that provides various workshops and coaching opportunities. Women who work in research can learn more about their paths to academia through conversations with accomplished women professors. The conference is open to women in the qualification phase of their research careers who participate in DFG-coordinated programs. Any remaining places will be allocated to other researchers at TU Dresden.
Femtec.Network
The Femtec.Network works in collaboration with TU Dresden to offer a career-building program that provides ambitious women studying science and technology with the opportunity to lay the groundwork for their future careers at an early stage. Femtec offers help, support and workshops (schools) for our students.
More time for science (discontinued)
During the COVID-19 pandemic, researchers who had to take care of family members faced a great deal of stress due to the lack of child care and additional homeschooling. The More time for science support program for TUD staff with family responsibilities was aimed primarily at women researchers and aimed to provide support by funding student or research assistants, or freelancers.
