The German Rectors' Conference, the publishing house ZEIT Verlag, and the Robert Bosch Stiftung have announced the award entitled "Hochschulen mittendrin" ("Social Engagement by Institutions of Higher Education") to honor the social engagement of institutions of higher education. The award recognizes activities by institutions of higher education that have an exemplary positive and visible impact on society. These activities can be social, societal, artistic, as well as economic and political measures. The initiative is also geared towards non-scientific target audiences.

The projects can be developed, initiated and implemented by university management, administration, faculties/departments or individual university members. The involvement of the university's communication officers is of crucial importance to the award sponsors and should therefore be explicitly acknowledged.

The call for applications for the award will be centrally advertised by the university management. Please send your reply to Monique Rust by  June 4, 2021 if you wish to submit an expression of interest to the German Rectors' Conference. If you wish to submit a full application directly, please send your reply to Monique Rust by June 15, 2021 at the latest.
