"Claiming Campus – Stools for Campus and Community": Fishbowl discussion on dies academicus
The TUD International Campus supports an internationally visible attractive campus with an engaged community. This clearly concerns all university members, because the campus belongs to everyone, and that is how it should be used!
Last year, the citizens of Frankfurt thought the same way last year, and appropriated urban space with the “making frankfurt" campaign. They built one hundred stools and distributed them throughout the city and took them in their own care. That worked well.
We think it can also be done on the campus: building seats together and getting into conversation with each other. Creating stools and with this flexible spaces for exchange, conversation and thus community. That's why we are launching the project "Claiming Campus - Stools for Campus and Community". The building itself will take place during the Sustainability Week at the end of June and at the first semester introductory events (ESE) in October, but even before we want to get into conversation with all those who are interested and committed:
What? | Discussion: How can we create a community on campus (and perhaps beyond) and how can we provide them with attractive spaces? Designer Jonathan Radetz, with whom we will collaborate on this project, will be there and bring ring stool models and maybe even build them on site with us. |
When? | May 10, 2023, starting at 1 pm |
Where? | getTUgether-Zone in front of the HSZ (bad weather alternative REC, C118) |
Who? |
Everyone who is interested in the development of our university community and our campus, especially those who are responsible for issues concerning the campus and its community and of course all those who want to have their say or simply listen. |
