The goal of successful science communication is to encourage social participation and even involvement in university research. However, true participation is not limited to receiving the results of completed research projects, but also includes active discussions about ongoing knowledge generation or even participation in projects, studies and experiments.

In the third installment of TUD’s “Challenges of Democracy” lectures series, questions concerning opportunities for participation in the scientific research process are addressed.
