Workshop on November 18th, 2021:
Career start without obstacles with Msc. Psychologist Pia Schweizer
1,2,3 – start your career and off you go – but how? On November 18th, 2021, Pia Schweizer gave us an understanding of the stumbling blocks we fall at the beginning of our professional life and how we can avoid them as part of a revitalizing online workshop.Using different methods that stimulate inner reflection, participants were shown various ways of avoiding jobs that make them despair and encourage them to "job-hop".
In the first part of the reflection phase, it was important for the participants to recognize where their strengths and inclinations lie, how they would classify their resilience and, above all, their self-confidence. In the second part of the reflection phase, the focus was on "visioning": brainstorming ideas, how we imagine our future professional career, which further training opportunities we would like to take advantage of, which languages we would like to learn and in the third phase it was about the possibilities of the concrete implementation of the ideas conceived in the second phase.
The second part of the workshop was about applying to companies themselves, which is why aspects such as writing a successful application tailored to the job advertisement were also discussed. Pia Schweizer gave tips for bold applications to stand out from other applicants, e.g. B.
- the use of concise, provocative openings or "hook lines" in the cover letter,
- Addressing weaknesses (What is missing for the position?) and how to explicitly resolve them,
- recording and linking a personal application video.
- Finally, the participants got an insight into the advantageous use of LinkedIn and valuable tips on how to improve their digital presence, e.g. B. by:
- record stories,
- Include different languages in the profile,
- put emojis in front of their name,
- Include keywords in your description,
- Embellish your info extensively and
- Send requests for referrals.
We would like to thank Pia Schweizer for the inspiring and authentic workshop, which shook us all up with regard to ourselves and our professional desires in particular, and we aim to include a recurring workshop with Pia in our offer so that other participants can also benefit from Pia's inspiring work in the future can benefit.
