Why Study Business Information Systems at TU Dresden?
Well - Business Information Systems in Dresden just stands out from the competitors in many ways:
- The Diplom is a globally respected degree offering advantages over Master's graduates at labor market entry.
- You avoid the interruptions common when changing from a Bachelor's to a Master's program.
- The elective area offers immense opportunities for individual study profiles.
- The six-semester main course of study and the larger elective area offer better opportunities for specialization than a four-semester master's program.
- For that reason, internships and stays abroad are also easier to integrate into your study.
- Business Information Systems is covered in its complete breadth and complemented by Computer Science.
- Regular top placements in university rankings (CHE, Wirtschaftswoche) testify to the high popularity of the program among students and companies.
Here's What Students Say
Luzia, a Diplom BIS student, tells (in German, sorry!) about their studies.
A small note in advance: Luzia studies the Diplom BIS as it was offered before the winter semester of 2024/25. Some notions were different there, and some courses mentioned have changed. Nevertheless, you get a good impression of the study conditions of today!
Location
At the Faculty of Business and Economics, you are right on the main campus of TU Dresden in Südvorstadt. The chairs, the dean's office, and the study office locate in the historic Georg-Schumann-Bau and the adjacent Hülße-Bau. Also, many of your courses take place in these buildings.
