Study Abroad
Consider studying abroad for a semester or longer? No issue, the Faculty of Business and Economics maintains numerous contacts and cooperations with foreign universities. Just in the Erasmus program, we partner currently with more than 60 universities. In addition, there are contacts at the level of the faculty and the TU Dresden with universities from virtually all parts of the world.
Learning agreements and the flexible electives area make the recognition of examinations abroad simple. The study track International is of particular interest here: students completing a part of their studies abroad enjoy greater freedom in the elective area.
Financial support is available as well. In addition to the PROMOS scholarships awarded at university level, the Prof. Endriss Award sponsors specifically students of the Faculty of Business and Economics staying abroad.
Please find more detailed information on stays abroad on the international pages.
After Graduation
Due to the tight and ever-increasing integration of business and information technology and the interdisciplinary orientation of the program, graduates of Business Information Systems face a large job market with many opportunities. As a systems analyst, project and knowledge manager, software developer, IT administrator, software consultant, or communications specialist, you can work in companies and institutions that use IT-supported application systems, but also for development firms.
Why Study Business Information Systems at TU Dresden?
Well - Business Information Systems in Dresden just stands out from the competitors in many ways:

Prof. Dr. Susanne Strahringer, academic coordinator Business Information systems: "Studying Business Information Systems is the ideal preparation for anyone wanting to shape the digital future. The Diplom program offers great freedom in choosing content according to one's preference. Also, spending a semester abroad is easy."
- The Diplom is a globally respected degree offering advantages over Master's graduates at labor market entry.
- You avoid the interruptions common when changing from a Bachelor's to a Master's program.
- The elective area offers immense opportunities for individual study profiles.
- The six-semester main course of study and the larger elective area offer better opportunities for specialization than a four-semester master's program.
- Business Information Systems is covered in its complete breadth and complemented by computer science.
- Internships and stays abroad integrate easily into your study. The study track International study program provides clear incentives to study abroad for a certain time.
- Regular top placements in university rankings (CHE, Wirtschaftswoche) testify to the high popularity of the program among students and companies.
