In Vivo Testing Facility
The In Vivo Testing Facility (INTEF) provides screening-based services to assist researchers in developing high-throughput screening assays, and support in the identification of new compounds for basic research and pharmacological discovery. We work closely with our proficient research partners in CRTD to develop solutions that help you to achieve your experimental goals. The INTEF is equipped to guide investigators through the drug discovery process from assay conception to lead compound identification and we are providing full-service access to state-of-art instrumentation, compound libraries and assistance for informatics solutions. The INTEF offers full services to both academic and industrial partners.
Welcome
Our central goal is to facilitate research by providing an efficient screening platform for zebrafish larvae. The VAST aspirates zebrafish embryos from a 96-well plate for imaging with a high-speed and super-resolution Zeiss Cell Observer Spinning Disk Confocal Microscope. Subsequently the larvae is dispensed to a new 96-well plate for further experiments and follow up imaging.
Our newest asset is a laserablation system (Rapp OptoElectronics UGA_42 Caliburn 355nm). The pulsed high-energy laser can efficiently ablate cells or microdissect tissues. This allows introducing a reproducible injury to the zebrafish larvae and in combination with the VAST to follow the regeneration of individual larvae in a 96-well format.
Our service is also available for minor studies such as grant proposals and pilot experiments. The VAST helps to avoid critical embedding steps of the zebrafish larvae and allow us to handle your sample uncomplicated for fluorescent imaging.
